Suleiman the Magnificent, also known as Suleiman I or Suleiman the Lawgiver, was the tenth Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, reigning from 1520 to 1566. His rule is often regarded as a golden age for the Ottoman Empire, marked by military conquests, administrative reforms, and cultural flourishing. Suleiman expanded the empire's territory significantly, with notable conquests including Hungary and parts of North Africa, earning him the title "the Magnificent." Additionally, he implemented a comprehensive legal code, known as the "Suleimanic Code" or "Kanun-i-Suleiman," and supported the development of art, architecture, and literature, leaving a lasting legacy in both the Ottoman and broader Islamic world.
